Electronic Music
Ambient Music:
My ambient music tracks are created using Logic Pro, Ableton, and Max for Live. Through these programs, I create and manipulate various ambient pads and build melodies over the mood of the sound scapes. Many of these compositions come from playing around with chords until I find a subtle tune that fits the mood of the day. In these pieces, I have found that my emotions are being treated as part of the music more than a goal of the work itself.
I also enjoy fusing the boundaries between acoustic instrumental playing with the soundscapes generated from the electronic components such as A Day at Sea, where I have scored a traditional quartet for winds and piano which is accompanied by an electronically MIDI generated soundtrack mimicking waves crashing on a shore in addition to using my clarinet playing enhanced with reverbs and distortions to make whale cries.
During the COVID-19 2020 shutdown, I began dedicating more time towards working with electronic music and have been working with the medium ever since in multiple contexts.

What am I currently working on in the electronic music department? I started working on a project utilizing Max for Live back in July and recently finished building the main synth pad for the soundscape layer. This piece will most likely be featuring the glockenspiel and clarinet by the time it is done. The purpose of this current piece is to try and learn how to incorporate triggers in Max for Live while I am performing, instead of using fixed media. |
Animations:
During my undergraduate studies, I created a few animations through a stop-motion animation course I took and created my own music for them utilizing Logic Pro.
